JAM-PACKED day today, but a really good day it was! Practice this morning followed by my lesson with John Crawford, then I went off to teach a very enthusiastic 5 year old then straight on to rehearsals with Dockland Sinfonia!

Conducted by the brilliant Spencer Down and lead by Trinity Laban alumni Eleanor Percy, we played
Verdi's Requiem which is one of my FAVOURITE pieces!! The concert on Friday will be at St Peter's Church, Notting Hill and is 90% sold out already!

Quote of the day from the conductor, "bring your tea and biscuits back to rehearsal" - now here's an orchestra I can get on board with!

"Serious Music" ...

This week at London Euphonia Orchestra we started a new contemporary piece by Josh Spear called 'Serious Music'. It's an incredible piece that brings together the traditional orchestra with pre-recorded material along side live electronic sounds played on a keyboard by the composer himself. Far from serious, the piece is actually really fun to play and certainly gets you counting!

Tonight I took part in a the London Symphony Orchestra's String Experience  Scheme workshop with Robert Turner and Tom Goodman.

We each played an orchestral extract and they gave very friendly and positive feedback!

The initial auditions for the scheme are on Tuesday next week when I have to play Strauss - Don Juan, Prokofiev - Classical Symphony, Brahms - Symphony No. 4 and Tchaikovsky - Nutcracker Suite  with the first movement of Mozart's Violin Concerto in G major.
Wish me luck!
